Bora Adam, a Rwandan entrepreneur and Global Peace Ambassador, is set to attend the Global Peace Summit (GPS) in New York in 2024. Bora, who heads Kigali Equipment and Information Center Ltd, has been involved in peace-building efforts since 2015 and works closely with the Global Peace Chain, a worldwide peace organization established in 2018.
As a peacekeeper, Bora emphasizes that peacekeepers are ordinary people committed to teaching and maintaining peace in their communities. “Peacekeepers help prevent or stop conflict, but their main role is educating people about peace,” he says. His work with Global Peace Chain aligns with his passion for promoting harmony and co-existence.
Bora’s mission is to empower youth voices against social injustice and promote diversity and inclusivity.
His participation in the Global Peace Summit in New York will focus on debates, discussions, and workshops on key global issues like climate change and political challenges. He aims to gain new skills and insights on how to effectively conduct peace summits and manage the challenges that peacekeepers face globally.
In a message to youth worldwide, Bora urges them to take responsibility for the future: “We are the future generation, and it is our responsibility to keep the world safe and peaceful. Raise your voices and fight for a better future.” He encourages young people to join Global Peace Chain and take an active role in global peace efforts.
