MTN Rwanda, in collaboration with Inkomoko, has announced the winners of the 4th edition of the Level Up Your Biz initiative, a program designed to empower small businesses with essential skills for growth.
Launched in 2021, this initiative provides training in financial management, social media marketing, and other key areas to help startups and SMEs thrive.
This year, 40 MTN MoMo agents participated in the
program, gaining crucial business insights to enhance their operations. Among
them, 10 agents stood out with
innovative solutions to distribution challenges, with the top three winners
receiving the highest recognition. Bayigana
Alexis from Gasabo District won first place, securing Rwf 5 million in float, while Dusabimana Adelphine from Rulindo and Tuyishime Baraka from Nyamasheke took
second and third place, earning Rwf 3.5
million and Rwf 2.5 million, respectively.
"At MTN Rwanda, we
go beyond providing communication services—we are committed to empowering entrepreneurs and
contributing to Rwanda’s Vision 2050,"
said Mapula Bodibe, MTN Rwanda
CEO and CSI Chairperson. "By equipping our agents with business skills, we
are helping them create jobs, drive economic growth, and transform their
communities."
In addition to cash
prizes, the top three winners will receive a revamp of their working environments to further boost their
businesses. The remaining seven finalists were also awarded Rwf 500,000 in float, reinforcing MTN
Rwanda’s commitment to supporting its agents.
"Inkomoko believes
that solutions to Africa’s challenges will
come from entrepreneurs on this continent," said Helle Dahl Rasmussen, Business Growth
Director at Inkomoko Rwanda. "We are proud of these 10 agents, and we hope
this program will help them reach new heights in their businesses."
MTN Rwanda continues to
encourage organizations to collaborate
in driving Rwanda’s economic transformation, emphasizing the importance
of job creation, financial inclusion, and innovation. Through initiatives like Level Up Your Biz, the company is
actively contributing to a more
resilient and self-sustaining economy, bringing Rwanda closer to its Vision 2050 goal of becoming a high-income
