APR FC defeated Gasogi United 1-0 in the first leg of the Peace Cup quarterfinals, with Niyibizi Ramadhan scoring the winner. The second leg will determine the semifinalist.

APR FC edged past Gasogi United with a 1-0 victory in the first leg of the Peace Cup quarterfinals. The match, played on February 27, 2025, saw Niyibizi Ramadhan score the only goal, giving APR FC a vital advantage ahead of the second leg.

Gasogi United had several chances to equalize, notably a strong penalty appeal in the 6th minute that was waved off by the referee. Alioune Mbaye also missed a clear opportunity in the 25th minute, with Niyigena Clement making a crucial defensive clearance.

APR FC’s defense remained solid, with goalkeeper Ishimwe Pierre making key saves, including a last-minute stop against Mugisha Joseph Rama in stoppage time. Cheik Djibril Ouattra nearly doubled the lead with a free kick that struck the post just before halftime.

Both teams made tactical substitutions, with APR FC introducing Thadeo Luanga in the 78th minute, while Gasogi United brought in Ngono Guy Herve to boost their attack. However, the match ended with APR FC holding on to their lead.

The second leg promises to be a decisive battle, as Gasogi United looks to overturn the deficit while APR FC aims to secure a spot in the semifinals.
