Lovers and music enthusiasts are in for a special treat this Valentine’s Day as the first-ever Amore Valentines’ Gala is set to take place in Kigali. The event will feature performances from Kidum, Alyn Sano, and Ruti Joel in a night dedicated to celebrating love.
The grand celebration is
scheduled for Friday, February 14, 2025, at Camp Kigali. Guests can expect live
music, gift giveaways, dancing, and a vibrant atmosphere fueled by DJ Sonia, a
talented DJ who has made a name for herself over the past five years.
The event is organized by
Horn Entertainment, founded by singer-turned-event-planner Babo. Speaking
to InyaRwanda, Babo shared her motivation for investing in the
Rwandan music industry: “Working with artists for a long time made me realize I
wanted to contribute to the growth of our music scene.”
Kidum, one of the
headliners, is a Burundian music legend with a career spanning decades. Known
for timeless love songs like Amosozi y’Urukundo, Kumushaha,
and Mbwira, he attributes his longevity in the industry to his
passion for music and professionalism. “The secret is treating my music like a
restaurant—you need cleanliness, quality service, and good food. In my case, my
service is excellent, and my work is clean,” he said.
Ruti Joel, another
performer, grew up surrounded by Rwandan cultural icons such as Massamba Intore
and Jules Sentore. His deep-rooted love for traditional music has shaped his
career, with songs like Diarabi and La Vie Est Belle showcasing
his rich vocals and cultural influence. In 2023, he launched his album Musomandera,
an all-traditional project inspired by the late Buravan.
Alyn Sano, a rising star
in Rwanda’s music scene, has made waves with hits like Rwiyoborere, Fake
Gee, and Biryoha Bisangiwe. In 2023, she released her debut
album Rumuri, a project that reflects her identity and musical
growth. “I wanted to create something unique that represents our culture and
who I truly am,” she said.
With an exciting lineup
of performances, Amore Valentines’ Gala promises to be an
unforgettable night for couples and music lovers alike. The event aims to
create a space where love and music intertwine, making Valentine’s Day 2025 a
night to remember.
Tickets for the event are
expected to sell out fast, so attendees are encouraged to secure their spots
early.
