Rita Laurence Ngarambe, Rwanda’s representative at Miss Face of Humanity 2022 and the First Runner-Up in the global competition, has announced she is preparing for her wedding in Rwanda with her fiancé, Jordan Cahill. The couple, who have been together for six years, will celebrate their union with family and friends in Kigali.
According
to the wedding invitations, the traditional 'Gusaba & Gukwa' ceremony
will take place on March 8, 2025, at Juru Park, Rebero in
Kigali. The intimate celebration will bring together their loved ones for a
special reception.
Speaking
to InyaRwanda, Ngarambe revealed that she and Jordan officially married in
Canada on February 10, 2024, with both a civil and church wedding. She
explained that they chose to hold the Rwandan cultural ceremony at home so
their families, who couldn’t attend the Canada wedding, could be part of their
journey.
“We
wanted to come to Rwanda to share this moment with our parents and family
members who couldn’t attend our wedding in Canada. It is a way to celebrate our
love and honor our traditions,” she said.
Ngarambe
rose to prominence in 2022 when she competed in Miss Face of Humanity,
finishing as First Runner-Up and winning the World Peace Award for
her advocacy on global peace. Originally from Rwanda, she has been based in
Canada since 2017. She studied history in the United States for two years
before moving to Canada, where she became involved in humanitarian work.
As
an advocate for women’s rights, Ngarambe has been supporting orphans
and survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. She also leads Our
Past, a remembrance initiative in Canada, and collaborates with organizations
assisting vulnerable communities. Her upcoming wedding in Rwanda will be
another milestone in her remarkable journey.
