The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has unveiled its budget for the year 2025, amounting to RWF 15,297,147,920. This budget will be allocated to various activities, including football development, tournaments, and the establishment of FERWAFA’s own media platforms.
According to IGIHE.com, RWF 7.96 billion has been set aside for tournaments and football development this year. Additionally, RWF 2.53 billion will be allocated to FERWAFA’s general operations, including employee salaries.
Another significant portion of the
budget, RWF 4.79 billion, will be invested in various projects, such as
constructing four football pitches and launching FERWAFA’s own radio and
television stations.
Out of the RWF 7.96 billion designated for
tournaments and football growth, RWF 4.98 billion will be allocated to the
national teams, which will participate in various competitions in 2024,
including CECAFA tournaments, the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, and
the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
In 2024, FERWAFA had a budget of RWF 9.93
billion, with RWF 2.41 billion specifically allocated to supporting the
national teams.
To approve this new budget, FERWAFA convened
an Extraordinary General Assembly on February 1, 2025. Initially planned to
take place at Radisson Blu on February 15, the meeting was later relocated to
Marriott Hotel.
On February 8, FERWAFA members were informed of the venue change and notified that key agenda items included approving the 2025 action plan, confirming the budget, and conducting elections for members of FERWAFA’s independent committees.
These committees include the Election
Appeals Commission, the General Appeals Commission, the Disciplinary
