After widespread speculation regarding the departure of foreign players from APR FC, the club's management has clarified the main reasons behind this decision to dispel any lingering doubts.
Before the second leg of the league commenced, APR FC's management held a press conference on Friday, addressing several key issues concerning the club.
Among the topics discussed was the
departure of three foreign players: Godwin Odibo, Apam Assongwe Bemol, and
Chidiebere Nwobodo. None of these players had secured enough playing time
within the team.
Brig. Gen. Déo Rusanganwa, President of APR FC, stated that the decision to part ways with these players was based on their performance capabilities.
He explained that it was the head coach who
requested their release, as he closely monitors their training on a daily
basis. He also emphasized that the club's management continuously supports the
coaching staff in making decisions that drive the team's progress.
Despite the separation, APR FC
confirmed that it honored the players' contracts. Godwin Odibo and Chidiebere
Nwobodo received a six-month severance package, while Apam Assongwe Bemol was
compensated with three months' salary, as confirmed by the club president.
This decision was made to strengthen
APR FC further and adequately prepare for the remaining league matches,
ensuring the club meets its annual objectives.
