In a surprising turn of events, the captain of Rwanda’s national team, Amavubi, Bizimana Djihad, has parted ways with FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih, a top-tier Ukrainian club he had joined a year and a half ago.
The 28-year-old midfielder announced his departure on his Instagram account on the night of Thursday, February 6, 2025.
He expressed gratitude to the club’s management, players, and fans for their
support and the memorable moments they shared. He also wished FC Kryvbas Kryvyi
Rih continued success.
Bizimana Djihad was one of the key players at FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih, having won multiple Player of the Month awards. He moved to Ukraine in the summer of 2023 after playing for Belgian clubs Waasland-Beveren and KMSK Deinze.

Bizimana Djihad Joins Al Ahly Tripoli
Following his departure from FC Kryvbas
Kryvyi Rih, Bizimana Djihad has now joined Libyan club Al Ahly Tripoli. He
reunites with his Rwanda national team teammate, Manzi Thierry, and coach
Didier Gomes Da Rosa, whom he previously worked with at Rayon Sports.
Al Ahly Tripoli is one of Libya’s most
dominant clubs and frequently represents the country in continental
competitions. Currently, the team tops the standings in the Tripoli region,
leading second-placed Al Madina by eight points.
Bizimana Djihad began his football career at
Etincelles FC before moving to Rayon Sports. He later joined APR FC, where he
played for three years before moving to Europe. In Belgium, he played for
Waasland-Beveren and KMSK Deinze before making his move to Ukraine.
This new chapter with Al Ahly Tripoli
presents an opportunity for Bizimana Djihad to showcase his talent further. He
will be looking to contribute alongside Manzi Thierry in the team’s pursuit of
silverware in Libya.
