You may have just heard about this story or perhaps though it's a regular health issue. However, what you need to know today is that Theo Bosebabireba’s wife is in critical condition, and your support is urgently needed.

The primary form of support required right now is prayer, hoping for her quick recovery so that she can continue caring for her family and serve God as usual. But beyond prayers, financial assistance is also needed, as well as a kind-hearted person who would be willing to donate a kidney, which is a matter of life and death, according to the doctors.

Mushimyimana Marie Chantal, known as Mama Eric who is the wife of Uwiringiyimana Theogene, also known as Theo Bosebabireba, a gospel artist who has been serving God through his music for over 20 years. They have seven children and reside in Gisozi, Kigali. They are active members of ADEPR Kicukiro Shel Church.

Theo Bosebabireba, whose songs have touched the hearts of millions across Rwanda and beyond, is now asking for help as his wife is in a critical condition. Theo has become popular through his songs like Icyifuzo, Ikiza urubwa, Ibigeragezo si karande, Yarogeye, and Kubita Utababarira.

For the past four months, Theo has been caring for his wife, who has been critically ill. He shared how her condition began in late November 2024, with her initially feeling weak and experiencing high blood pressure and digestive problems.

Despite taking medications, her condition worsened, and by December, she had been transferred to Rwinkwavu Hospital for further treatment, where doctors discovered severe kidney damage.

Now, she is undergoing dialysis three times a week in the Rwamagana hospital, a life-saving treatment for someone with failing kidneys. Theo has expressed that the cost of her treatment is too high, as the dialysis sessions cost over 300,000 Rwandan Francs per week, not including additional medical expenses and daily needs.

Theo says, "Without dialysis, she would not survive. Her kidneys are failing, and she is swollen all over her eyes, stomach, legs, and hands are visibly swollen. I am terrified when I see her condition worsening."

In addition to her worsened illness, Theo also has a burden of providing for their seven children, who are all still in school, including some in secondary school. The financial issue is extreme, and Theo, who has paused all his music performances to care for his wife, is reaching out to the public for help.

He said, "I can’t do this alone. It’s only a few people who can afford this. We are urgently looking for a compassionate person who could donate a kidney to save my wife’s life." Theo also expressed his gratitude to those who have shown love and support during these tough times. He continues to appreciate those who offered both financial and emotional support.

Theo also shared how in 2022 he faced a family crisis when his father was ill, and he asked friends and family for prayer, which eventually led to his father’s recovery. Now, he is asking for the same kind of support for his beloved wife, Mama Eric. Theo’s plea is heartfelt, and he is hopeful that with the help of kind-hearted people, his wife will soon be recovered.
