Renowned singer and journalist Uncle Austin has released the visuals for his song "Mon Coeur," a collaboration with The Ben.
This marks their first
joint project in 15 years, following their 2009 hit "Tugumane," which
gained significant popularity. Despite their close ties, the two artists had
not worked together again until now due to individual commitments and The Ben’s
music career in the United States.
“Mon Coeur” is part of
Uncle Austin's upcoming fourth and final album, London. Speaking to
InyaRwanda, Uncle Austin shared that the album signifies the culmination of his
music journey and includes a fresh talent, Lloav, who also features in the
song. “My goal has always been to uplift new artists, and Lloav did an amazing
job in this song,” he said.
The album, titled after
his daughter’s name, reflects a personal touch for Uncle Austin. “You don’t
truly understand love until you have a child,” he explained. Scheduled for
release later this year, London comprises 12 tracks featuring
collaborations with various artists, most of whom Uncle Austin worked with for
the first time.
Having spent two years
creating the album, Uncle Austin admitted it was challenging to finalize the
tracklist. “I have about 50 completed songs. Selecting the 12 for the album was
tough, and some won’t be released,” he revealed. Despite these challenges, he
remains optimistic about the album’s impact and legacy.
Uncle Austin also
highlighted the involvement of notable producers like Element, Prince Kiiiz,
Roda, and Nessim in crafting the songs. However, he acknowledged financial
constraints might prevent him from releasing visuals for all the tracks. London promises
to be a heartfelt farewell to his fans, combining years of experience and a
focus on nurturing new talent.
