Nigerian Afrobeat star Joeboy is set to visit Rwanda on October 1, 2024, to film a music video for his collaboration with Rwandan artist Bruce Melodie. This song will feature on Joeboy’s upcoming album under 1:55 AM Music Label.
The
collaboration is part of Bruce Melodie’s effort to expand his music onto the
international stage. Recently, he invested over 50 million Rwandan Francs in
producing his hit song "Sowe" in Nigeria, a move aimed at boosting
his global presence.
Joeboy,
no stranger to Rwanda, first performed in the country in February 2020 at the
Kigali Jazz Junction. He returned in 2022 for the "Kigali Fiesta" at
BK Arena, where he and Bruce Melodie strengthened their professional bond,
leading to this new collaboration.
The
26-year-old Nigerian artist has become a major figure in the Afrobeat scene
with hits like "Sip (Alcohol)" and "Baby," which has
garnered over 11 million views on YouTube. He has also performed at major
events across Africa and the UK.
This
collaboration with Bruce Melodie comes on the heels of Melodie’s latest track,
"Iyo Foto," recorded with Sauti Sol’s Bien-Aime Baraza, further
positioning both artists on the global music scene.
