Massamba Intore: Celebrating 40 Years of Traditional Music Excellence

The son of the famed musician Sentore, Massamba has made a significant impact as a singer, songwriter, and performer of Rwandan cultural music, alongside being an accomplished film actor. His career, deeply rooted in traditional music, has seen him become a celebrated figure both in Rwanda and internationally.

Massamba's musical journey began at a young age, influenced by his family's rich musical heritage. He first performed publicly at just six years old with the troupe "Intore Indashyikirwa" and wrote his first song, "Ndi Uwawe," before turning 20. 

Over the years, Massamba has been a dedicated advocate for Rwandan culture through his music, performances, and involvement with various cultural initiatives. His work has not only preserved traditional Rwandan music but also introduced it to global audiences.

As Massamba celebrates four decades in the music industry, he reflects on his beginnings, including his participation in the Rwandan liberation struggle, where his songs inspired many. 

He has been a part of several notable projects and collaborations, including working with renowned African artists and participating in international music festivals. His dedication to promoting young talent and supporting the cultural scene in Rwanda has also been a hallmark of his career.

To mark this milestone, Massamba Intore has planned a special concert titled '3040 Y'Ubutore,' set to take place at the BK Arena on August 31, 2024. This event will not only celebrate his 40-year musical journey but also coincide with the 30th anniversary of Rwanda's liberation. The concert promises to be a grand celebration of Rwandan culture, featuring performances that highlight Massamba's illustrious career and his contributions to the country's artistic heritage.
