Arsenal's failure to sign Cristiano Ronaldo in January is one of the main reasons why they missed out on everything in 2022-2023 seasons including the league title.
Piers Morgan is a prominent English journalist and Arsenal
fan. Speaking to Talk Sport, he talked about how his favorite team Arsenal
played and returned to why they lost the league title to Manchester City.
The 58-year-old said the North London club's failure to sign Cristiano
Ronaldo was a major reason why they were last promoted to the Premier League in
2004.
He said: "Arsenal fans laughed at me last year when I said that
Cristiano Ronaldo would be the best player left at Arsenal when he left
Manchester United. Do they still laugh at me now? honestly someone like
Cristiano Ronaldo at that time of hard work Gabriel Jesus broke , he could lead
our line."
Piers Morgan continued, "It's not just about winning, it's about
having the mindset to win. You put someone like that in the ring and all the
young players take that mindset away from them."
In the first month Arsenal manager Mike Arteta bypassed Cristiano Ronaldo by signing Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior. The player who won 5 Ballon d'Or then went to Saudi Arabia in the Arsenal team where he played 19 games and scored 14 goals.
