The Frenchman Pierre Latour playing for the TotalEnergies team, won the fifth stage of the Tour du Rwanda 2024 (Individual Time Trial) played in Musanze-Kinigi, a touristic area and home of the beautiful gorillas in Birunga, at a distance of 13Km. He spent 23 minutes and 31 seconds.
This stage was played
on Thursday, February 22, 2024, leaving the Belgian William Junior Lecerf who
won stage four of the Tour du Rwanda 2024, wearing the Yellow Jersey, given to
the player with the shortest time in the overall ranking.
Pierre Latour, who won
the fifth place, was born on December 12, 1993. He is a French professional
cyclist, who belongs to the TotalEnergies team.
He won a stage of the
Vuelta a España; and twice won the French National Time Trial Championships.
This young man is 1.80
m tall and weighs 64 kg. In 2020, Latour signed a two-year contract with Total
Direct Énergie.
Kinigi, where the racers
stopped by, is a small town at the foot of a volcano, home to the world's last
remaining highland gorillas.
