The Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB) has announced changes in the 2024-2025 season playoff matches, introducing a different format from previous years.

Starting on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14, 2025, Petit Stade in Remera will host the playoff matches that will determine the champions in both the men's and women's categories.

During a press conference held on Thursday, FRVB officials revealed that the format of these matches has been modified. This season, a team that wins two matches will be crowned champion, whereas in previous seasons, teams had to win three out of five matches. If both teams win one match each, a decisive third match will be played to determine the champion.

Kubwimana Gertrude, the FRVB Technical Director, explained that this new format aims to give Rwandan players more opportunities to represent their national teams while also aligning with the schedule set by the African Volleyball Confederation (FIVB).

On the other hand, FRVB President Ngarambe Rafael praised the high level of competition seen throughout the season, expressing confidence that fans will witness thrilling playoff matches.

The playoff matchups are scheduled as follows:

·         Friday, March 13, 2025:

    • Men: Police VC vs. REG VC (8:00 PM)
    • Women: Police WVC vs. Kepler WVC (4:00 PM)

·         Saturday, March 14, 2025:

    • The second and third-placed teams will compete.

As the season comes to an end, intense competition is expected in the playoffs, with teams doing their best to secure the 2024-2025 championship title.

The Kamarampaka matches in the Volleyball Championship have undergone changes, where teams will now compete to win two out of three matches, unlike before when teams had to win three out of five matches
