Rwandan singer The Ben has confirmed that he has completed recording a second collaboration with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz. Speaking to the media upon his arrival at Kigali International Airport, The Ben revealed that the highly anticipated song is set for release this summer.
The Ben had traveled to Zanzibar, Tanzania, to attend the Trace Awards, an event that brought together thousands of music fans and top African artists. He disclosed that during his stay in Tanzania in late February 2025, he and Diamond finalized the audio recording of their new song.
“We are planning to
release it in the summer,” The Ben stated. “We haven’t shot the video yet, but
no matter what, we will release them together.” His announcement has sparked
excitement among fans, especially following the massive success of their first
collaboration, Why, which has amassed over 24 million views since its
release on January 4, 2022.
Diamond Platnumz, one of
Africa’s most influential artists, has a huge fan base across East Africa and
beyond. Working with him has significantly boosted The Ben’s international
visibility, especially in Swahili-speaking countries like Tanzania, Kenya, and
Uganda.
Beyond his popularity,
Diamond is also a top-earning African artist and the owner of Wasafi Records,
one of the biggest music labels in Africa. Collaborating with him ensures
top-tier production quality and extensive media coverage, positioning The Ben’s
music on major streaming platforms such as Boomplay, Apple Music, and Spotify.
With this second
collaboration on the way, expectations are high. Fans across Africa are eagerly
waiting for the next big hit, which could further cement The Ben’s place in the
