Burundian forward Bimenyimana Bonfils Caleb, who made a name for himself while playing for Rayon Sports, has officially parted ways with Iranian club FC Zob Ahan.
It has been five years since Caleb left the Rwandan
giants Rayon Sports, where he gained widespread recognition. After his
departure, he played for several clubs, and in the summer of 2022, there were
speculations about his possible return to Rayon Sports. However, he eventually
signed with South African side Kaizer Chiefs.
Reliable sources close to the player indicate that
Caleb requested to terminate his contract with FC Zob Ahan due to the club's
failure to pay his salary for three consecutive months. His legal team,
including his agent and lawyer, is currently handling the matter.
The Burundian national team striker had joined the
Iranian club on October 31, 2024.
Bimenyimana Bonfils Caleb played for Rayon Sports
between 2017 and 2019, where he became one of the club’s standout players. He
later moved to various teams in Europe before returning to Africa, signing for
Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa for one season before joining Al Ahly Benghazi in
Libya.
During his time at Rayon Sports, Caleb played a
crucial role in helping the club reach the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals
in 2019, scoring five goals in the competition.
