It has been 24 days since Rwandan singer The Ben, real name Mugisha Benjamin, unveiled his much-anticipated album Plenty Love at a historic concert in BK Arena.
The show, held on January
1, 2025, drew over 9,600 fans, making it one of the biggest musical events in
Rwanda. The night was made even more special as The Ben marked 15 years in the
industry and received support from high-ranking officials and fellow artists.
Despite expectations that
the 12-track album would be immediately available on streaming platforms, fans
have been left wondering where it is. Only five songs, including True
Love and Plenty Love, have been released so far on
platforms like Spotify. In an exclusive interview with InyaRwanda,
The Ben explained the delay, revealing that the remaining seven tracks will be
released on January 31, 2025.
"I had a meeting
with ONErpm on January 22, and we agreed that the rest of the songs will be
released by the end of the month," The Ben confirmed. He added that while
some songs are already streaming, the full album experience will finally be
available as intended.
The singer also shared
the inspiration behind the album’s name, stating, "My music journey has
been filled with overwhelming love from my fans. I couldn’t find a better way
to describe it than ‘Plenty Love.’" He credited producers like Element,
Prince Kiiiz, Made Beats, Kozzy, and Real Beat for shaping the album’s sound.
To celebrate the official
release, The Ben is planning an exclusive album launch event, which he
describes as an Executive Gala. The event is set for February 28,
2025, at Kigali Convention Center, offering fans a premium experience. "We
are preparing a high-class showcase for the album after its full release,"
he stated.
The delay, The Ben
clarified, was due to technical decisions made by ONErpm. "I initially
wanted the entire album to drop on the day of my concert, but technical factors
prevented that," he explained. With the final release date now confirmed,
fans can look forward to enjoying Plenty Love in its entirety
soon.
