Renowned Rwandan artist Muyango Jean Marie has launched his journey toward completing his fifth album with a heartfelt Gospel track titled 'Ni Wowe.'
Released on Sunday,
January 19, 2025, the song reflects gratitude to God for sustaining him through
the health challenges he faced in 2024. It is both a personal prayer and an
offering of hope to Rwandans as the new year begins.
“This song is Muyango’s
way of thanking God and inspiring all Rwandans to embrace gratitude in 2025,”
said his manager, Didier Kananura. “After overcoming serious health issues that
required treatment abroad, Muyango wanted to start this year with a message of
faith and appreciation for life.”
The track marks Muyango’s
first foray into Gospel music in his three-decade career. Written during his
recovery in Belgium, the song is a testament to his personal connection with
God during that challenging period. Kananura emphasized, “It’s not about
converting to a new religion or doctrine; it’s a sincere expression of
gratitude to the divine.”
Muyango’s previous
release, Intsinzi, celebrated the re-election of President
Paul Kagame and resonated with themes of national pride. Now, with Ni
Wowe, he shifts focus to spiritual reflection. The song was produced
by Didier Touch, with visuals directed by Vyper, bringing a polished, emotive
experience to listeners.
“Gospel is new terrain
for Muyango, but this song carries a universal message,” Kananura explained.
“It invites everyone to acknowledge God’s presence in their lives.” He also
revealed that the artist plans to release more tracks this year as part of his
fifth album project.
Muyango’s fourth
album, Imbanzamumyambi, released in December 2023, featured 12
iconic tracks, including tributes to national figures such as President Kagame
(Karame Uwangabiye) and First Lady Jeannette Kagame (Umwiza w’u
Rwanda). With Ni Wowe, Muyango sets the stage for a year
filled with meaningful music, blending personal experiences with messages of
faith and hope.
