Renowned Rwandan actress Usanase Bahavu Jannet has revealed that her appearance in Social Mula’s hit music video "Kundunduro" was driven by her desire to leave a lasting legacy, much like a mother who appeared in Karemera Rodrigue's iconic music video. She hopes her role in the video will keep her memory alive long after her time.
"Kundunduro,"
released five years ago, marked a turning point for Social Mula, skyrocketing
his popularity and securing numerous performance opportunities. The song’s
catchy lyrics and Bahavu’s captivating presence in the video contributed to its
widespread success, with many media outlets covering it extensively.
In
an interview with InyaRwanda, Bahavu explained that she wanted to be part of a
music video that would immortalize her image, similar to how she remembered
people speaking fondly of the woman in Rodrigue’s "Hagati y’ibiti
bibiri" video. She saw "Kundunduro" as the perfect opportunity
to fulfill this childhood dream.
Since
then, Bahavu has gained fame not only from her appearance in
"Kundunduro" but also from her role in the popular TV series 'City
Maid'. She has since shifted her focus to cinema and is currently preparing to
premiere the second part of her film "Bad Choice" at an exclusive
event on September 27, 2024.
