Bull Dogg, born Malik Bertrand Ndayishimiye, recently joined the family and fans of the late rapper Jay Polly, whose real name was Tuyishimwe Joshua, to commemorate the three-year anniversary of his passing. Jay Polly, a celebrated figure in Rwandan Hip Hop, would have turned 37 on July 5, 2024, had he been alive.
The gathering on
September 2, 2024, was a poignant reminder of his impact on those who knew and
loved him. Reflecting on his time with Jay Polly, Bull Dogg described him as a
"student of life," a person of resilience who gave advice and support
to others, even as he faced significant hardships from a young age. "He
was a great friend to me," Bull Dogg shared. "We went through life's
journey together, exchanging advice and supporting each other."
Bull Dogg also expressed
his commitment to being a constant presence for Jay Polly's family. He
mentioned his desire to be a mentor to Jay Polly's children, especially his
daughter, and to share stories about her father's wisdom and strength. "I
want to meet with her, because she's like my own child," he said. "I
know her father's wisdom and his journey, and I want to be there for her."
As one of the original
members of the renowned Tuff Gang, alongside Jay Polly, Fireman, P Fla, and
Green P, Bull Dogg remains dedicated to preserving Jay Polly's legacy. He
promised to continue being there for the family and hinted at a future release of
a Tuff Gang album that will feature Jay Polly's voice, keeping his memory alive
in the music they created together.
