The 27th edition of the Rwanda International Trade Fair was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Jean Chrysostome Ngabitsinze, attracting 795 exhibitors from over 20 countries.
The event, held at the
Gikondo Expo Grounds, has already seen a high turnout of visitors in its first
week, showcasing a diverse array of products and services.
This year, the fair
emphasizes "Made in Rwanda" products, with a special focus on
innovations in agriculture, craftsmanship, and construction materials. Dr.
Ngabitsinze highlighted the inclusion of youth, women, and people with
disabilities, offering them a platform to showcase their contributions to the country's
economic development. He also praised the international participants,
underscoring the importance of their presence for Rwanda's economic landscape.
Jeanne-Françoise
Mubiligi, Chairperson of the Rwanda Private Sector Federation, noted that the
expo provides an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to demonstrate their
innovations and learn from one another. She emphasized the significant growth
and improvement of Rwandan-made products, particularly in agriculture and
industry, as key highlights of this year's event.
With the support of the
Rwanda National Police, the expo ensures the safety of attendees and
exhibitors, with security measures in place to prevent incidents such as fires.
Tech companies like MTN Rwanda, Tecno Rwanda, and Samsung are offering special
deals and promotions, further enhancing the event's appeal. The fair, which
runs until August 15, 2024, expects to attract thousands of visitors daily,
making it a key event for showcasing and promoting innovation and
