Renowned artist Nsabimana Léonard, famous for his hit song “Ndandambara,” performed for hundreds at the 'Gen-Z Comedy' show, an event attended by the Minister of Youth and Culture, Dr. Utumatwishima Jean Nepo Abdallah.
This special comedy show
was held in anticipation of the upcoming elections scheduled for Monday, July
15, 2024. The event featured songs and comedy skits that focused on encouraging
voter participation in both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
Comedians Dr Nsabi,

audience with various topics, leaving everyone in stitches. This performance
followed days of preparation, making the night a memorable one.
It was Léonard's first performance at a Gen-Z Comedy event. Speaking to InyaRwanda, he expressed his excitement and viewed this invitation as a sign that his music has transcended regional boundaries.
“Being invited to perform at ‘Gen-Z Comedy’ shows that ‘Ndandambara’ has made me a well-known artist across Rwanda, no longer just a local musician,” he said.
Although he was scheduled to perform three songs,
limited time allowed him to sing only “Ndandambara yandera ubwoba,” which had
the audience on their feet.
Performing in front of
Minister Utumatwishima was particularly special for Léonard. “He is a true
friend of artists, and many look up to him for his support,” he said. “As
‘Ndandambara,’ it was a great honor to perform in front of someone who
genuinely supports the arts and to receive his encouragement firsthand.”
