According to statistical reports from different countries such as the United States of America and Canada, about 40% of the families that break up through divorce are in European countries, while the African continent is lagging behind, especially when it comes to punishing people, no country appears in the top 10.

There are many reasons known as the causes of breakups that separate a woman and a man who often promise to live together through thick and thin and end up breaking up.

Some of these reasons include: Disagreement in the use of money, Different behavior and habits between spouses, Addiction to tobacco, alcohol or anything else, Different cultures of countries, Homelessness, Cheating, hypocrisy and back-burning, Non-conformity with religion and belief etc.

This problem continues to destroy many families and has many negative effects including delaying children's education, their quality of life and their health in general, especially mental health. 

1. Maldives

In the 2023 statistics of countries with the highest divorce rate, the Maldives leads the list with a divorce rate of 5.5 per 1,000 people. 

2. The island of Guam

The island of Guam is located in the western part of the Pacific Ocean on the continent of Oceania. This island comes in 2nd place with 4.3 percent of married people. 

3. Russia

Russia ranks fourth as the world's most populous nation, one of the largest countries in the world with a birth rate of 3.9% per 1000 people. 

4. Moldova

Moldova is one of the smallest countries in Eastern Europe that used to be part of the Soviet Union. It is surrounded by mountains and has a population of over 2,700,000 with a population density of 3.8 percent. 

5. Belarus

Belarus, another small country yet has the largest population in the world. Statistics show that it comes in fifth place at 3.7% of every 1,000 people who are married as a man and a woman. 

6. China

It is the country with the largest population in the world. It is also not easy for couples who fight because this problem has a percentage of 3.2% out of 1000 people who decide to get married. 

7. Cuba

Aruba is one of the countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands located in the Caribbean Sea. It is located about 29 miles north of the Venezuelan island of Paraguaná and 80 miles northwest of Curacao. It comes in 7th place at 2.8% of every 1,000 married people. 

8. Georgia

Georgia, a country with more than 3.7 million people, ranks 8th in the world as the country with the most divorces, since on average, 2.9% of 1,000 people who decide to live as a couple end up in divorce. 

9. Ukraine

These days, Ukraine is in the midst of a war with Russia. A year and three months ago, Russia attacked the neighboring country with a population of over 43 people, which is the 9th most populous country in the world. 

10. Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a country surrounded by mountains, forests, and oceans located on the American continent. With a population of 5.1 million, it is the 10th most populous city in the world. On average there are 2.8 divorces per 1,000 married people.
