The group of comedians Zuby Comedy has announced that they are going to hold a comedy festival in the country of Burundi called 'Iwacu Comedy Festival', with the aim of meeting the fans of their art and expanding their journey in the field of comedy.
On the night of Monday, June 12, 2023, this group consisting of Samson Mucyo [Samu] and Shizirungu Seka Seth [Seth] announced that they will perform these extended concerts in the city of Bujumbura in Burundi and in the city of Kigali in Rwanda.
These concerts have the same style as the concerts they first performed in Kenya, where they met comedian Tricky and then continued in Kigali, where they took place at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village known as Camp Kigali.
Samu, who is a member of Zuby Comedy, told InyaRwanda: "As you can see, this is a notice, the festival will be held in Rwanda, but we are meeting in Burundi. We will work together with Seth when it's Zuby Comedy; we planned it, not the people who invited us."
This comedian says that there are comedians from Rwanda who will go to Burundi and will work in this show even though they have not announced yet. He says that there are comedians from Burundi who will meet in this comedy festival.
Samu, who recently finished his second degree at the Institut Catholique de Kabgayi University (ICK), says that in general they thought of organizing these concerts based on the requests of the fans of those in Burundi.
He continued, "The purpose of the festival is to attract our fans in Burundi and to expand our activities in general."
He said that the performances of this festival that will be held in Rwanda will take place in various universities and in high schools.
He said, “After that we will do another big concert as usual, which will be held at Camp Kigali. We started with the festival as last year we started in Nairobi, we got to work in Kigali, and now we are starting from Burundi."
Zuby Comedy is a popular group of comedy videos through Youtube, Tik Tok, Instagram and other popular social media platforms. Since 2020 this group has gained a large number of fans.
She is famous for her nickname 'Miss Mulenge' after many others that focus on Mulenge.
