Floods left 42 people dead and 11 missing due to flooding as a result of a week long heavy rain

Floods due to heavy rain has killed 42 people and left 11 others missing. Institution in charge in Haiti reported on Monday yesterday that floods killed at least 42 people and left other 13,300 stranded while other 11 missing due to floods as a result of heavy long week, which resulted to flooding. 

Civil Protection Agency of Haiti, reported on Monday that, “it is necessary to follow protocols and guidelines to control aftermath and relocation, for stranded” [Translated]. It cautioned people in danger to stay vigilant and follow directives of rescue operations. 

Flooding caused various destructions to infrastructures and natural resources like forests and rivers, which led to devastation and movement blockage.

World Food Program reported that it is collecting resources and financial aids to more than 15000 poor weather victims. 

UN says that flooding resulted in great devastations to Haitians, because more than half of them already had food insecurities even before the flooding.
