Rwanda Development Board (RDB) continues partnerships with the African Basketball League (BAL), a move they decided on after reflecting on their three years long partnership.
Up to now,
teams which will be competing in the most upcoming BAL had been listed, and they
included Stade Malien, REG BBC, AS Douanes and AB Fighters, and all those teams were announced
from “Sahara Conference.”
Currently, “Nile
Conference” from which other teams to join the upcoming BAL will be selected is
still underway. This part is happening in Egypt.
Initially, RDB
via Visit Rwanda signed a partnership with BAL management team in terms of advertising
and hosting BAL’s final games such that final games of BAL would happen in Rwanda
for three years long period, and this year was the final year of the partnership.
In this period in which “Nile Conference” is still underway, leadership of BAL and RDB
carried out press conference with journalists on this Thursday, 27th of
April, 2023, and recalled on their great cooperation, reflecting on BAL, RDB, and Visit
Rwanda.
Top leader of RDB in charge of tourism said that Rwanda seeks to be the destination of sports in Africa and they have been gratitude for the last three years long partnership with BAL.
In this press conference, Amadou Gallo Fall, President of African Basketball League (BAL) said that they are excited about the partnership and hoping to see the upcoming games in Kigali receiving great audience as they continue to use 'TheBAL' as an agent for culture exchange and economy uplifting.
