Katja Gruber, the Coordinator of the Rhineland Palatinate and Rwanda's partnership in Rwanda, paid a visit to the 'Die Sprache hub' at Akagera Rhein Center

Madame Katja Gruber, the Coordinator of the Office for Partnership (Jumelage) of the State of Rhineland Palatinate visited a new German school in Rwanda, 'Die Sprache Hub-German Language Academy,' emphasizing the good relationship of Rhineland Palatinate and Rwanda celebrating 40 years.

During a visit on December 13, 2022, Madame Katja Gruber visited the Die Sprache Hub-German Language Academy at Akagera Rhein Center located in Kimironko Sector in Kigali City, they showcased their achievements and explained a lot about their work performance.

She was given a tour of the institution and spoke to students, where she explained to them the work Jumelage does, including strengthening cooperation between the province of Rhineland Palatinate and Rwanda both in education, promoting good governance, protecting the environment, and many more for development.


She also announced that the Rwandan and Rhineland Palatinate relationship is now celebrating the 40th anniversary of its inception, emphasizing that both sides have benefited from it.

Ms. Gruber concluded by thanking, the administration of the Akagera Rhein Center and Die Sprache Hub-German Language Academy in German words, "Lieber Sprache- Hub Teams;  herzlichen Dank für die Vorstellung Eures Konzept & den freundlichen Empfang. Ich wünsche Euch viel Erfolg bei der Umsetzung.”

"You a group that has a language connection (German), you have welcomed me and expressed your achievements; I wish you success," she explained.

She expressed that the activities of Akagera Rhein Center and Die Sprache Hub-German Language Academy provide confidence in possible interactions in the future.


Ms. Gruber also said that there is a project to be launched by Jumelage called Venture Women that will promote women who create jobs and investors known as “Starts up”, where they will be helped by developing their projects to achieve their goals.

The Die Sprache Hub-German Language Academy was launched by the German Institute of 'Akagera Rhein Center' founded by Rwandans living in Germany (Diaspora), after President Paul Kagame visited them in RwandaDay on October 5, 2019, in the city of Bonn, encouraging them to invest in Rwanda and carry out activities that are important to their country.

Die Sprache Hub-German Language Academy opened its doors on August 1, 2022, where they offer German language courses in a faster way, known as intensive, from A1, A2, and B1. They also receive people who learn at four different times; in the morning, Afternoon, in the evening, and on the Weekend.


During high school holidays, Die Sprache Hub-German Language Academy began teaching German language to students going in senior five and senior six, with the aim of helping students learn this language and to avoid going into useless areas. Classes will continue to be offered during holidays and for free.

The advantage in the Die Sprache Hub-German Language Academy is that their students, when they know German, are given knowledge and information about working with German-language users and going to work in different countries that use this language.

There is also a new program ‘Au-Pair’ to help people learn the German language living in German-speaking families as a traditional language.

Die Sprache Hub-German Language Academy operates teaching at Akagera Rhein Center, where they are located in Kigali City, Gasabo District, Kimironko Sector, Kibagabaga Cell, Ramiro Village on KG 1 St, 12th gate.


According to one of the school coordinators, Mr. Mwizerwa, the Inscription [at Die Sprache Hub-German Language Acedemy] has begun to those who want to study German, and registration is free.

Next-year courses will begin on January 7, 2023, for students who study on Weekend and those who study in the afternoon and at night courses will start on January 9, 2023.

Through Die Sprache Hub-German Language Academy, Akagera Rhein Center launched a talk entitled 'Live Chat with the Diaspora' where Rwandan people living in German-speaking countries talk to students of Die Sprache Hub-German Language Academy and everyone else to Akagera Rhein Center, in order to diligence and give them advice about the lifestyle in German-speaking countries.
