Within few hours after Gormahia announced that it parted ways with its Breton coach, Steve Polack, the team further added it has already hired a former Rayon Sports Fc coach.
The Brazilian Robertinho
took over Kenyan leading soccer team after he helped the Rwanda’s Rayon Sports reach
quarter final of CAF confederations cup 2018. He arrived in Kenya this Saturday
and put a pen to paper without a delay to seal a two years contract with
Gormahia.
‘’ We feel pleased to announce that our new coach, Roberto Oliveira has
arrived in Kenya from Brazil. He has enriched his coaching experience in Africa,
which led him to master playing tactics of Africans. We believe he will be a key
for us to reach victory,’’ said Gormahia president, Ambrose Rachie.
Previously, the Brazilian helped Rayon Sports fc see off Gormahia in CAF
confederations Cup. Robertinho confided that he loves Gormahia so much.
‘’ After I left Rayon Sports, I received more than three requests of African
teams, asking me to return to Africa. I declined all the requests but I could
never deny joining Gormahia because I love it very much, I like its playing
tactics, I watched all its matches during African games. I am very proud of
this chance of being a coach in the team,’’ said Robertinho, adding that he couldn’t
join the team before he terminated his contract with Rayon Sports Fc two years
ago.
Gormahia requires the Brazilian to make it strong enough to outperform
in African games. Gormahia won champions league title of the last year and is
due to represent Kenya in CAF Champions League.
