The FlightStats research agency has rated KLM the most punctual airline in the biggest airlines in the world category. KLM achieved a punctuality performance rate of 88.7%, staying ahead of SAS, Iberia and Japan Airlines.
"Winning the OTP Award for on-time performance serves to confirm KLM’s commitment to the level of operational reliability it aspires to offer its passengers." Quoted in the press release from KLM.
FlightStats published its OTP Awards for the sixth consecutive year; recognizing airlines for their consistently high level of performance and honoring their commitment to transport passengers to their destinations on time. FlightStats measures 150,000 flights a day worldwide for their OTP ratings. Flights arriving at the gate less than 15 minutes after the scheduled arrival time are classified by FlightStats as being on time.
KLM has vowed to never disappoint their passengers in the matters of punctuality
Other internationally operational airlines to successively secure a place in the top 10 were Saudia, ANA, Lufthansa, Airberlin, LAN Airlines and Singapore Airlines.
