As usual, every Monday, InyaRwanda brings you an update on how Rwandan footballers playing abroad performed over the past week.
Starting with the Kenyan Premier League, on Sunday, AFC Leopards, featuring Gitego Arthur, defeated City Stars 1-0. The Rwandan striker did not start the match, nor was he on the bench. AFC Leopards currently sit in 4th place in the league standings and will face Mara Sugar on Sunday.
In Libya, on Tuesday last week, Al Ahly Tripoli, where Manzi Thierry plays, secured a 2-0 victory against Abelashhar. However, the Amavubi defender did not feature in the match as he has been sidelined with an injury. Al Ahly Tripoli remains at the top of the league standings and will play against Libyan Stadium on Thursday.
On Saturday, in the Tunisian Premier League, Stade de Tunisien, home to Mugisha Bonheur, played to a 0-0 draw against Metlaoui. As usual, the Rwandan midfielder started and played the entire match. Stade de Tunisien is currently 3rd in the standings, just one point behind league leaders Esperance, and will face Esperance on Saturday.
Also in Tunisia, on Sunday, Olympique de Beja, featuring Ishimwe Anicet, defeated AS Gabes 1-0. The Rwandan player was not in the starting lineup nor on the bench. Olympique de Beja is currently in 8th place and will play against Ben Guerdane on Saturday.
In the South African Premier League, on Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs, featuring Ntwari Fiacre, lost 1-0 to Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby. The Amavubi goalkeeper did not start but was on the bench. Kaizer Chiefs are currently in 5th place and will play against AmaZulu on Tuesday.
On Sunday, in the Azerbaijani Premier League, Zira FK, where Mutsinzi Ange plays, secured a 3-2 victory against Qarabag FK. The Rwandan defender started the match and played the full 90 minutes. Zira FK is currently 3rd in the standings and will face Araz-Naxçıvan in the Azerbaijani Cup quarter-finals on Thursday.
Also in Azerbaijan, on Saturday, Sabail FK, featuring Nshuti Innocent, drew 1-1 against Turan. The Rwandan forward played the entire match. After this draw, Sabail FK dropped back to the bottom of the league table, despite having climbed out of last place the previous week. They will face Qarabag FK in the Azerbaijani Cup quarter-finals on Thursday.
On Sunday, in the Belgian First Division, Beerschot, featuring Hakim Sahabo, suffered a 1-0 defeat against Genk. The Rwandan midfielder played the entire match. Beerschot remains at the bottom of the standings and will face Charleroi on Sunday.
In the Belgian Second Division, on Sunday, Raal La Louviere, featuring Samuel Gueulette, played a 0-0 draw against Zulte Waregem. The Rwandan player started and completed the match. Raal La Louviere is currently in 3rd place and will face Lokeren-Temse on Sunday.
