Pratham Soni from India was crowned Mister United Nations 2024, while Dushimimana Robin Calb Caldwell represented Rwanda and earned the title of Mister Elite United Nations World 2024.

Originally from Nyamasheke, Dushimimana grew up in Gisozi, Gasabo District. His educational journey began at E.P Gisozi II, with secondary studies at E.S Kigoma and E.S Kiyanza in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. He furthered his education at IPRC-Kigali and currently studies Computer Engineering at Marwadi University in India.

In an interview with InyaRwanda, Dushimimana shared how he learned about Mister United Nations and prepared by studying the competition's guidelines.

“I did thorough research to ensure the contest aligned with my values and goals,” he said, explaining that his journey involved submitting personal details and participating in interviews to introduce himself to judges and contestants worldwide.

The Mister United Nations competition, held in New Delhi, India, from September 26 to 29, 2024, draws young men from various UN member countries. This global pageant aims to promote leadership, charity, and cultural representation.

As Dushimimana explained, his participation was strongly supported by the Rwandan community in India and the Rwandan Embassy. “I am deeply grateful to the Rwandan Embassy and my compatriots here for their overwhelming support,” he noted.

Winning the title grants Dushimimana a platform to represent Rwanda at the 2025 event in Florida, USA, where he hopes for further online support from his country. “I trust that people will continue to support me in the online voting round in December 2025,” he expressed with optimism.

The title of Mister Elite United Nations World lasts two years, which gives Dushimimana ample time to work on humanitarian projects. “This title is a great honor for Rwanda, bringing pride and recognition to our culture and talents,” he shared. He views his role as a path to promoting philanthropy and fostering international unity.

Besides the crown, Dushimimana received several awards, including funds for initiatives aligned with United Nations goals. He will use this opportunity to raise awareness about Rwanda’s culture and values on a global stage, aspiring to inspire young Rwandans to participate in impactful initiatives.
