Kenyan music group Sauti Sol has announced a change in the date for their Kigali concert, citing "unavoidable circumstances." Originally scheduled for October 18, 2024, the "Kigali Pere-Party" will now take place on November 30, 2024, at Kigali Universe.
The concert is part of
Sauti Sol’s farewell tour, marking their 17-year journey in music. The group
had aligned the event with Rwanda's Kwita Izina ceremony, where they have been
active participants in past years, even naming baby gorillas in 2022.
Following the postponement
of this year’s Kwita Izina ceremony by Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the band
decided to shift their concert date to maintain their farewell tour schedule.
Joining Sauti Sol on
stage will be local artists Mike Kayihura, Ariel Wayz, and DJs June, Nicolas
Peks, and Sonia. Tickets are priced at 10,000 Frw for general admission, with
early bird tickets going for 5,000 Frw.
Sauti Sol last performed
in Kigali in September 2022, delivering a memorable show at Intare Conference
Arena.
