The Oxford Africa Conference, an annual event organized by the African Society of Oxford University, has extended an invitation to Jolly Mutesi, Miss Rwanda 2016, to participate as a keynote speaker. The conference is scheduled to take place from May 24th to May 26th, 2024.

Mutesi Jolly, who captured the hearts of many during her reign as Miss Rwanda, has been chosen to share her insights on the theme of spirituality in leadership, a topic deeply intertwined with her personal journey.

It is customary for the Oxford Africa Conference to feature prominent speakers from various fields, and this year is no exception. Among the distinguished guests are Ghanaian President Nana Akufo Addo, Dr. Donald Kaberuka, former President of the African Development Bank, and Amina Mohamed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations.

The conference, established in 1958 aims to address critical issues facing Africa and foster dialogue on solutions, opportunities for the continent's development and collaboration between Africa and the world.

Miss Jolly Mutesi, 27, was born on November 15, 1996, in Kasese, Uganda. She is the eldest of six siblings, with three sisters and three brothers. She completed her primary education at Pickhill School and later attended Hima Secondary School before transferring to King David Academy in Kigali.

In 2020, Mutesi enrolled at Makerere University, where she pursued her higher education.

Her crowning as Miss Rwanda in January 27, 2016, marked a significant milestone in her life, leading her to represent Rwanda in the Miss World pageant later that year.

Currently, Mutesi serves as the Vice President of the Miss East Africa Beauty Pageant, an esteemed competition held in Tanzania, which attracts participants from 17 countries, including Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and others.

Mutesi's participation in this prestigious event highlights her commitment to promoting African excellence and advancing the continent's agenda on a global scale.

As she prepares to address the conference, her journey from a small town in Uganda to the halls of Oxford University serves as an inspiration to many, showcasing the transformative power of education, perseverance, and passion.
