Rwandan singer Christian Rukundo [Chriss Eazy], says his confidence in his musical journey has grown significantly after performing solo for the first time in Belgium. The "Sambolera" hitmaker held a one-man show at the Blu Brussels entertainment hall, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of Rwandans, Burundians, and other Kinyarwanda-speaking fans.
“This
show gave me confidence,” Chriss Eazy shared. “It was my first time performing
alone without any other artist on the same stage. Seeing the turnout and the
energy of the audience made me believe even more in my craft.”
The
event at Blu Brussels was a major milestone for the rising star. “It was my
first time in Europe, and to perform in a venue that has hosted many renowned
artists, including Bruce Melodie and famous French performers, was incredible,”
he said. "All the tickets sold out, including VIP, and even the parking
was packed."
Chriss
Eazy also reflected on the unique concert culture in Europe. “People arrive
late for shows,” he observed with amusement. “At 10 PM, the hall was empty, and
by 11 PM, there were still no signs of a crowd. But by midnight, the entire
venue was full to capacity.”
The
singer expressed gratitude for the support of the Rwandan diaspora, noting how
well they know his music. “When I performed my older songs, the crowd sang
along. It’s clear they stay connected to everything happening in Rwanda,
sometimes even more than those living back home,” he said.
Chriss
Eazy described his Belgian audience as stylish and vibrant. “These are people
who come to have fun and truly enjoy themselves. They don’t hold back like some
people in Kigali. When they love a song, they dance with you. It’s an amazing
experience to see such joy.”
