Rwandan movie ''The Mercy of the Jungle'' won the ‘best script’ award in FESPACO festival

Joel Karekezi who wrote a movie “Mercy of the jungle” got so much pleasure after winning “best script” award in a festival which aims at promoting African movies, FESPACO. The festival took place in Burkina Faso.

Joel was awarded by President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame and Roch Kabore president of Burkina Faso. The award was named “L'etalon D'or du Yennenga 2019.”

Joel Karekezi said that he was very happy to get the award. He said “I am very pleased to win this big award here, Rwandans have to celebrate” he added that the presence of President Paul Kagame in Burkina Faso means a lot to the movie industry.

“The Mercy of the Jungle” was awarded in the closing ceremony of FESPACO, the festival which was attended by various leaders including President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Roch Kabore, the President of Burkina Faso , Ibrahim Boubakar Keita of Mali and Louise Mushikiwabo the Executive Secretary of OIF.

The movie “The Mercy of the Jungle” stares Marc Zinga, Stéphane Bak, Ibrahim Ahmed Pino, Nirere Shanel (Miss Shannel ) , Sergeant Xavier, Kantarama Gahigiri, Private Faustin, Major Kayitare and many others .
