His Excellency the President of Rwanda Paul Kagame has been put on the list of world icons and leaders from which 100 most influential and inspiring people will be chosen.

The Time, a US Magazine, releases annually a list of 100 most influential and inspiring people of the same year in which the magazine is released; people who made an impact mainly in the communities they live in. For the 2016 issue, a total of 127 people will be the ones to be chosen from, and President Paul Kagame features.

This list, known as The Time 100, initially started in 1999. The range of the people chosen is huge: from world countries presidents and leaders, people involved with technology, musicians, and footballers to other people who vastly impacted the world through their work.

The Time journalists and experts, who make this list, chose many people for this year’s edition. To mention but a few, Paul Kagame, Pope Francis, President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Bill Gates, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, German chancellor Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton, President Vladimir Putin, President Francois Hollande, David Cameron and so many others appear on the list.

They did not include only world leaders and presidents. Musicians as Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Adele, Beyonce, Taylor Swift and film actors such as Leonardo Di Caprio, Jennifer Lawrence are also present. Others making the list are giant footballers Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and World No. 1 Tennis woman Serena Williams among many others. They all worked and inspired people in different fields, but they also have something in common: they, at a high extent, impacted the world in one way or another and are thus paragons everyone should learn from.

The voting, which already started, will end on April 10th. Then, on April the 14th, the votes will be published online, and The Time 100 list will be released on the 21st.
