Michael Chukumwa killed his friend both with the same Nigerian origin Obina Durumchukwa after a row over Messi and Ronaldo debate.

According to an Indian police report, Nigerian Michael Chukumwa, aged 21, has killed his also Nigerian friend Obina Durumchukwa, aged 34, in a Mumbai neighborhood.

It was on last week’s Saturday, on Obina’s birthday, that the crime happened. As BBC reports, the victim had invited his two friends – Michael Chukumwa and John Okoro, aged 33 – to the party at his flat in Mumbai. The Indian police reported, “The debate soon started as one was a Lionel Messi’s fan and the other, a Cristiano Ronaldo’s fan. The victim – Obina – threw a glass at the accused’s – Michael’s – face, but the latter dodged the glass though it wounded him without much damage.”

Onwards, Michael took one shred from the flung glass, which was then broken into myriad pieces, to only start cutting his friend’s throat with fury. As BBC wrote, an Indian police officer said, “The victim passed away due to heavy bleeding.”

Yahoo Sports News stated that the victim was a Cristiano Ronaldo’s fan, while the accused was a Lionel Messi’s fan.

The 28-year old Argentine Lionel Messi is the only player in history to have bagged the coveted FIFA Ballon D’Or a record five times. On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of the Portuguese National Team, took it home only thrice.
