In Kenya, on Saturday, AFC Leopards, featuring striker Gitego Arthur,
played to a 1-1 draw against Murang’a SEAL in the Kenyan Premier League. Gitego
started the match but was substituted before the final whistle. Currently, AFC
Leopards are 6th in the league standings and are set to face Kariobangi Sharks
on Sunday.
In Libya, on Thursday, Al Ahly Tripoli, home to defender Manzi Thierry,
secured a dominant 3-0 victory against Al Khums. However, Manzi did not feature
in the game due to an injury he has been nursing. Al Ahly Tripoli remains at
the top of the league table and will face Abi Al Ashar on Tuesday, January 28,
2025.
In Tunisia, on Friday, Olympique de Beja, where Ishimwe Anicet plays,
drew 1-1 with Esperance in the Tunisian top-tier league. Ishimwe was on the
bench throughout the game. Olympique de Beja, currently 8th on the table, will
next play AS Gabes on Sunday.
In South Africa, on Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs, featuring goalkeeper Ntwari
Fiacre, crushed Free Agents 4-0 in the Nedbank Cup. Ntwari did not play and was
not even on the bench. Kaizer Chiefs will take on their fierce rivals Orlando
Pirates in the Soweto Derby on Saturday.
In Azerbaijan, on Friday, Zira FK, with defender Mutsinzi Ange, secured a
2-1 victory over Shamakhi in the Premier League. Ange was initially on the
bench but came on as a substitute in the 77th minute. Zira FK is currently 3rd
in the league standings and will face Qarabag on Sunday.
Also in Azerbaijan, on Saturday, Sabail FK, featuring forward Nshuti
Innocent, recorded a 1-0 win against Kapaz. Nshuti played a key role,
delivering the assist for the only goal of the game, which was scored in the
11th minute. This win lifted Sabail off the bottom of the table, and they are
now preparing to face Turan on Saturday.
In Belgium, on Sunday, K. Beerschot V.A., featuring Hakim Sahabo,
suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the Belgian Pro
League. Hakim started the match but was substituted in the 78th minute.
Beerschot remains at the bottom of the table and will face Genk on Saturday.
In Belgium’s second division, on Sunday, Raal La Louviere, with
midfielder Samuel Gueulette, lost 2-1 to Club NXT U23. Gueulette started the
game but was substituted in the 88th minute. La Louviere is currently 3rd in
the league standings and will take on Zulte Waregem on Sunday.
In Ukraine, FC Kryvbas Kryvyi is in Spain for mid-season preparations.
The team is set to play a friendly match against Tromse of Norway on Tuesday as
they gear up for the league’s second half.
