Rwandan forward Byiringiro Lague has officially joined Rayon Sports after parting ways with Swedish second-division club Sandvikens IF.
On Monday, January 6, 2025, Lague
arrived at Kigali International Airport, where he was warmly received by Rayon
Sports President Twagirayezu Thaddée and Project Manager Mushimire Claude.
This development follows recent
reports that the Blue-and-White club had reached an agreement with Byiringiro
Lague, a left-wing forward, to secure his services.
Lague’s arrival comes shortly after
Sandvikens IF announced that they had mutually agreed to terminate his
contract. He initially joined the Swedish club in January 2023 when it was
competing in the third division but departed after they earned promotion to the
second tier.
Byiringiro began his football
journey at Vision FC before moving to Intare FC. In 2018, he was promoted to
APR FC, where he impressed and eventually attracted the attention of Sandvikens
IF.
Rayon Sports’ decision to sign Lague
aligns with their current strong form and ambition to win the league title. The
team is currently leading the league standings with 36 points.
