Li John set to make history with "Colors of the East Festival" Performance

Renowned producer Li John has unveiled exciting plans to showcase his musical talent on the international stage alongside stars Diamond and The Ben.

Li John, currently in the limelight for his hit song "Icyuki gikaze," has been invited to perform at the prestigious "Colors of the East Festival" as part of a lineup featuring artists from across Africa. The festival is scheduled to take place from May 23-26, 2024, at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., attracting over 20,000 attendees.

Joining Li John on stage will be a stellar cast of performers, including Tanzanian sensation Diamond Platnumz, Congolese artist Innoss'B, Kenyan musician Otile Brown, Ugandan star Nandy, and many others from Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, Zambia, and beyond.

This marks Li John's debut performance at such a high-profile event, following two years of honing his craft and collaborating with diverse artists on music projects and performances.

In an interview with InyaRwanda, Li John expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized the importance of representing Rwanda on the global stage.

"I am deeply honored and grateful for this opportunity. Every Rwandan artist aspires to such recognition. It's not only a personal milestone but also a chance to showcase Rwanda's talent and creativity to the world," Li John said.

He highlighted the responsibility of artists in promoting Rwanda's cultural heritage and contributing positively to the country's image abroad.

"To be able to elevate Rwandan music, we must strive for excellence and uphold our country's values. Collaborating with The Ben, Diamond, Innoss'B, and others is not just a musical endeavor; it's a testament to our collective commitment to showcasing Africa's talent, particularly our own country," Li John added.

Li John's musical journey has been marked by notable collaborations and hit songs, including "Pole" with Papa Cyangwe, "Ready now" with Marina and Afrique, and "Kamwe" with Julien Bimjizzo and All Stars. His studio sessions at The Mane, under the guidance of Bad Rama, have further solidified his presence in the music industry.

As he prepares to take the stage at the "Colors of the East Festival," Li John remains focused on delivering a memorable performance that celebrates Rwanda's rich musical heritage and contributes to the continent's vibrant music scene.
