Rwandan singer The Ben has secured five nominations at the East African Arts Entertainment Awards (EAEA) set to take place on March 30, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya. This comes as he prepares to release his highly anticipated new album, Plenty Love.
The Ben is nominated in
five categories, including Male Artist of the Year (Rwanda), Hit Song of
the Year (Plenty), and Music Video of the Year (True Love). He also received a
nomination for Collaboration Song of the Year for Best Friend,
his duet with Bwiza, and is in the race for Continental Best African
Artist.
His latest songs, Plenty and True
Love, have played a significant role in his multiple nominations. Speaking
about his upcoming album, The Ben shared that its title was inspired by these
songs, stating, "My musical journey has been filled with immense
love from my fans. This album reflects the love and support I have received
over the past 15 years."
The Ben will officially
release Plenty Love on January 31, 2025. To celebrate, he
is organizing a special "Executive Gala" Album Launch at Kigali
Convention Center on February 28, 2025. He assured fans that the delay in
releasing the album was due to final technical refinements with ONErpm to
ensure a high-quality production.
The EAEA 2025 nominations
also include big names like Zuchu, Diamond Platnumz, Runtown, Nandy,
Ruger, and Rayvanny. The Ben previously won in these awards with Ni
Forever, a song dedicated to his wife, which took home Best Music
Video.
Besides The Ben, Amb.
Alliah Cool, Muyoboke Alex, Producer Kozze, Marchal Ujeku, and Country Records are
other Rwandan talents nominated or awarded in previous editions. With five
nominations, The Ben stands a strong chance of adding more trophies to his
career achievements.
