Rwandan females who live in China contested for beauty pageant, better known as AFSU 2019 (African Students Union) , the Rwandan beauty queen, Nelly Rutayisire outperformed to win the crown after edging 9 contestants on 8th June 2019.

Miss African Students Union in the contest that was held at Haikou City, based
in China in Hainan province, over the weekend. 10 contestants who vied for the crown
came from various countries of Africa including; Rwanda, Nigeria, Zambia, Morocco,
just to name a few.

The contend ended when the Rwandese beauty queen,
Rutayisire, was pronounced the winner of Miss AFSU2019. Nelly replaced Phionah,
from Sudan, who won the crown last year.
In an interview with Inyarwanda.com, Nelly Rutayisire said that she was
proud to win the vying.
‘’ I was really happy to win, especially as a Rwandan,
I always prioritized my country,’’ she said. Nelly Rutayisire has been living
in China for 9 months now, she studies at Hainan University, in the college of
economics and business.
