The source told
inyarwanda.com that the song has shots that show a woman who use sign language to
speaking with people. Authors believe that the song will change negative
connotation that some people have about people with hearing and speaking
disabilities.
They sing’’ You are the ones who make me hear, you are the ones who make me speak out, you are in my direction. You are the ones who understand me, you are the ones I can hear, you are the ones I am talking to, you are the ones I talk about.’’
They literally
hint that children born with disability have rights to be understood, taken
care of and that they have ability to be fruitful to the society.
The source continued to tell us that the singers aim to mobilize people to learn sign languages in a bid to be able to talk to deaf people who seem to feel alone when they are in the public where there is nobody who can understand them.
Aline Gahongayire
told inyarwanda.com that a child born deaf should be cared for,’’ a mother who
gave birth to a deaf child, should treat that child as normal children, because
that child need care and enjoying life,’’ she advised, adding that she is happy
that she is doing something to help people whose voices are less heard.
‘’ Parents must
know that those children need special care, they have to help them learn sign
language, try to find out their hidden talents and guide them to use that
talent, and ask help from local government,’’
said the Spokesperson, who thanked the singers for their contribution.
