The minister of Sports and Culture of Rwanda has delivered the message and a national flag to the athletes who will represent Rwanda in Brazil during Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games from August 5-21.
During the procedure which took place this July 27, Minister Julienne UWACU told the athletes who will represent the country to Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games 2016 that a national flag they carry to the South is not for whomever. That, ‘that’s a country’s honor they carry’, and a national representation so, they have to endeavor so that it would be raised in Rio through winning the medals and coming out on top.
“This flag is of great value to Rwandans,” articulated the Minister.
A national flag was offered to Hermas Cliff MUVUNYI the Paralympics athlete who is representing the country in the Games, 19-year Salome NYIRARUKUNDO who qualified at Africa Athletics Senior Championship in South Africa, and additionally both a 33 year-old Claudette MUKASAKINDI who practiced in Kenya and 36 year-old, Ambroise UWIRAGIYE who practiced in Thailand.

National Ladies’ sitting Volleyball team was handed a national flag too, as the team qualified to represent Africa at the Olympic Games after winning Egyptian sitting Volleyball team.
