Renowned Rwandan singer King James has expressed his satisfaction upon seeing his fellow artist Bruce Melodie embrace business investments after a conversation they had during Rwanda Day.

The two musicians discussed the importance of diversifying income streams beyond music, with King James encouraging Bruce Melodie to explore business opportunities.

On January 19, 2024, Bruce Melodie officially announced his latest business venture—a sports-related partnership with United Generation Basketball (UGB). During the press conference, he credited King James for inspiring him to think beyond music and consider investments that could sustain him in the long run.

"The first person to realize this was King James. I remember him telling me, 'I won’t return to Rwanda Day as an artist; I will return as a businessman.' That stuck with me," Bruce Melodie revealed. This conversation motivated him to seek business opportunities, and his meeting with Coach Gael further pushed him toward combining sports and business.

In an exclusive interview with InyaRwanda, King James confirmed that their discussions during Rwanda Day were centered on expanding beyond the music industry. He explained, "It was about sharing advice and exchanging ideas. We talked about business opportunities for the future, including investments in music." He also mentioned that Charly & Nina were part of the discussions when they were in Germany.

Bruce Melodie has since expanded his investment portfolio, acquiring shares in UGB alongside Coach Gael, with the aim of elevating the team’s performance and supporting youth development in sports. Additionally, he has ventured into various business sectors, including wood trade, pig farming, and entertainment investments, such as Kigali Universe under Blue Sky Ltd.

Beyond business, Bruce Melodie continues to grow musically. He recently collaborated with global superstar Shaggy on the song "When She's Around," featured on his album Colorful Generation. His journey proves that artists can successfully merge creativity with entrepreneurship, securing long-term financial stability.
