Renowned producer Mbabazi Lick, famously known as Lick Lick, has returned to Kigali for a unique project, focusing on creating music for various artists, especially rappers. Known for his role in elevating artists like The Ben, Meddy, and K8 Kavuyo, Lick Lick is set to spend over a week in Rwanda, working with numerous musicians.
Sources revealed to
InyaRwanda that Lick Lick has already produced tracks for rappers Ama G The
Black and Green P, among others. On July 17, 2024, artist Yago Pon Dat released
teaser photos for his upcoming song, produced by Lick Lick. The photos
showcased the behind-the-scenes of the music video shoot.
Yago expressed his
gratitude and excitement for collaborating with Lick Lick, stating that the
song reflects divine inspiration. "It's all in God's hands, the Lion's
victory," he said. Lick Lick also shared on Instagram that the project
with Yago is progressing well, highlighting his dedication to nurturing local
talent.
This visit marks Lick Lick’s return to Rwanda after his trips in 2022, where he accompanied Meddy for a family funeral in August and assisted Bad Rama with The Mane Music studio in December.
Lick Lick’s reputation, which soared in 2010, continues to grow as he
works with top-notch equipment and remains committed to producing hits that
resonate with fans.
