Traditional music artist Cyusa Ibrahim has released the music video for his new song "Twatsinze," inspired by a speech by presidential candidate Paul Kagame during his campaign in Nyarugenge District on June 25, 2024.
In his speech, Kagame
praised the resilience and strength of Rwandans, likening them to lions led by
a lion. He emphasized the importance of perseverance and unity, stating,
"The battles we fought were tough. But being abandoned and then attacked by
the world, we stood strong. Rwanda is here today because we fought for
it."
On July 9, 2024, during a
conversation with social media influencers and journalists, President Kagame
reiterated the essence of being a lion, meaning facing challenges head-on,
whether personal, familial, or national. He said, "Living like a coward
means living without ideas or courage. Being a lion means tackling every
challenge as your own."
In an interview with
InyaRwanda, Cyusa Ibrahim shared how he was inspired by Kagame's words to
create "Twatsinze." He explained, "I composed this song to
celebrate our president's victory and that of all Rwandans. His speech moved
me, and I wanted to convey that message of victory to everyone."
The release of
"Twatsinze" follows Cyusa's recent major concert at Kigali Conference
and Exhibition Village, where he performed alongside Mariya Yohana, Inganzo
Ngari, Ruti Joel, and Chrisy Neat. This concert marked a significant milestone
in his 10-year career dedicated to promoting traditional Rwandan music.
