During a {Kwitizina}gorilla naming ceremony that took place on 24th September 2020 in Kinigi, home to endangered mountain gorillas, Arsenal Fc Captain with his men partook in Rwanda’s Kwitizina event.
The ceremony brought
together dozens of famous people from all around the world who include Arsenal Fc
players. Aubameyang and his men such as Hector Bellerin and Bernd Leno of
Arsenal partook in Rwanda’s baby gorilla’s naming ceremony.
For the 16th
time, the annual naming ceremony in Rwanda attracted attention of three core
players of popular soccer team from Britain. New born baby gorillas who were
given names for this time are 24.
This event that is used to taking place at the
North of the country, saw a small change comparing with last events. It was
held online due to avoiding the spreading of the coronavirus pandemic.
The English team that Rwanda has sponsored for three years, participated in the naming ceremony as a hallmark of confirming their presence in a journey of booming Rwanda’s tourism sector.
The captain of Arsenal Fc gave name to a baby gorilla in Rwanda.
’’ It’s an honor for me to name a baby gorilla
and raising awareness and supporting mountain gorilla conservation,’’ he said,
adding he named him 'Igitego' which literally means goal.
Gabonese, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang named baby Gorilla in Rwanda.
Bernd Leno, Arsenal goalkeeper also named a baby gorilla’’ I feel lucky
to give this baby gorilla a name, ‘’ he meant that people should safeguard environment.
He added that he devises to visit the baby he named in the future. He named
him, Iriza, which means first born.
Another Arsenal Fc player who named baby gorilla is Hector Bellerin who
plays at the defensive line. He said that he was pleased to name a baby gorilla
a defender.
‘’ It is very special to name a gorilla, yeah, I would love to see him in the future’’ he said. He named him Imyugariro, which means defender.
Gorilla naming ceremony is an annual event of celebrating the birth of new born baby gorillas. The event brings together dozens of people from various parts of the world.
Now that Arsenal has been partnering with Rwanda since the army soccer sealed a deal with the country to contribute to recognition of the country to the rest of the world through wearing visit Rwanda mark on their kits.
