AFCON 2019: Senegal Whip Tanzania As Algeria Upbeat Kenya

On the 3rd day of African championship 2019, Senegal defeated 2-1 against Tanzania while Algeria upbeat Kenya 2-1 yesterday, Sunday.

The matches kicked off at 16:30 and Morocco won 1-0 goal against Namibia in the first match of the group C. Keimuine Itamunua of Morocco won the goal in the half-time, on 89th minute of the match.    

Tanzania who seemed powerless was also beaten 2-1 by Senegal during their first match. Keita Balde Diao of Senegal showed great performance in the pitch as he kicked a storming shot into Tanzania’s goal on 28th minute of the match. The second goal was netted by, the 20 years, Krepin Diatta on the 64th minute of the match.

During the match Senegal played very well and got chances of kicking 10 shots into Tanzania’s goal while Tanzania hardly tried any. Senegal made 467 passes while Tanzania made 265.   

Senegal continued to dominate and finished the match with 64, % in ball possessions, making 18 faults while Tanzania made 22 and got 6 corner kicks while Tanzania got 3 corner kicks.

For the group D first match that started at 22:00 yesterday Algerians beat Kenyans 2-1. Baghdad Bounedjah entered the first goal after punishing a penalty on the 34th minute of the match while the second goal was netted by Riyad Mahrez on the 43rd minute of the match. Another match of the group D is scheduled to be played today, Monday at 16:30 as Cote d’Ivoire will be facing off with South Africa.

Matches of group E are slated to begin at 19:30 as Tunisia will be hosting Angola while Mali is clashing with Mauritania at 22:00, Kigali time.
